These unique design lamps are hand made following traditional Japanese techniques. This technique is called Shibori. This is created by twisting, folding and distressing the material to show the natural patterns. I like it because it is white and you can see shades and tones very well and it creates beautiful pattern. Also it looks very delicate and soft like a knitted cloud.

I love this design because it is fun, you can play,  you can interact with it, and it allows to user to be creative and manipulate the light in the room. It is like the light mosaic. the wood in this project was especially design to be flexible.

‘A lamp within a log’ is the cool idea behind Marco Stefanelli‘s gorgeous Brecce (Breaches) Collection, which debuted at this year’s Milan Furniture Fair Cascina Cuccagna show. A combination of light, wood and resin, Brecce is all handmade and mixes natural elements with LED technology.

The log lamps come in a variety of sizes and can be used as stools or simply as bookshelf lamps. The process required to realize every log lamp is quite work-intensive, requiring a section of the log to be sliced out and then for a silicone cast of the slice to be made. The light is then set in the cast.
All the components of the lamp are assembled with screws or by locking the parts together. The lamps are sometimes finished with natural wax or with linseed oil.
